Luminosity Gaming is a North American esports organization that currently has teams in Overwatch, Smite, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Call of Duty, HearthStone and World of Warcraft.

Founded in February 2015 by Steve "Buyaka" Maida, Luminosity quickly rose to prominence in esports, with impressive placings in Counter Strike and Call of Duty among other games. Luminosity is based out of Toronto, Canada.

Halo 5: Guardians

Luminosity entered the Halo scene in August 2016, during the Preseason Transfer Period leading up to the Fall 2016 season of the HCS Pro League. They announced the signing of League qualified team of Kevin "Eco" Smith, Daniel "Danoxide" Terlizzi, Brett "Naded" Leonard and Visal "eL TowN" Mohanan on August 24th.[1] After three weeks in the Pro League, Luminosity sat in fourth place with a 3-3 record. Looking to improve, they released Eco[2] and brought in Cameron "Victory X" Thorlakson, formerly of Evil Geniuses, on October 18th.[3] Going into Week 7 of the Pro League season, Luminosity was in a good spot, sitting in 4th place with a one-match lead over Str8 Rippin and an advantage in the head-to-head. Unfortunately for Luminosity, they were unable to win either of their matches in Week 7, while Str8 won both of theirs, resulting in Luminosity missing out on the Season Finals and finishing in 5th.

On December 29th, during the offseason, Danoxide left Luminosity to join Problem Solvers.[4] This was followed by Naded leaving to join Enigma6 Group. The Naded/Danoxide duo was eventually replaced by Tyler "Ninja" Blevins and Joe "TriPPPeY" Taylor.[5] At their first event - UGC St. Louis 2017 - LG won their first match against Earthroot Gaming, but were swept in the following round by Str8 Rippin. In Losers, they defeated Pnda Gaming before a 3-0 loss to Evil Geniuses ended their night with a top 8 finish. Shortly after UGC, Luminosity started playing with Tommy "Saiyan" Wilson in place of TriPPPeY, with the roster change being officially confirmed by the organization on February 23rd.[6] At ME Las Vegas 2017, the new roster had its first chance to qualify for Halo World Championship 2017. A game 7 loss to Str8 Rippin denied them their first opportunity, but in Losers, they mowed through 3sUP before pulling off an improbable 4-1 victory over Splyce to book their ticket to Worlds. Moving on in the tournament, they then met Team EnVyUs and lost a very closely contested 7 game series.
