Epsilon eSports is a European esports organization. Founded in 2008, Epsilon fields teams in games such as Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Team Fortress 2 etc.

History

Halo 2: Anniversary

Epsilon's first foray into Halo esports came on January 23rd, 2015, when they announced a debut roster of Alex "BUK 20" Buck, Eddie "Reaction" Leck, James "Jimbossity" Bradbrook (also known as Jimbo) and Mike "Snipedrone" Juchau.[1] Their first tournament together was EGL Battle of Europe 2015, where they looked to earn €10,000 as well as the wild card spot in the North American HCS Season 1 Finals. Unfortunately, they finished 3rd at the event. On March 26th, Reaction was confirmed to have left Epsilon, leaving them short a player. This void was filled with the acquisition of BUK 20's twin brother, Will "BUK 57" Buck, coming out of Halo retirement. The roster's first tournament was Multiplay Insomnia 54, where they finished 3rd.

Halo 5: Guardians

Epsilon was one of four teams invited to the Gamescom Invitational 2015 pre-release Halo 5 tournament. They won, defeating Supremacy in the finals. Their Halo 5 prowess continued to show as they won Multiplay Insomnia 55 and Multiplay Insomnia 56. On January 17th, Epsilon placed 1st at the HWC UK Finals, qualifying for the EMEA Regional Finals. Epsilon were one of two EMEA teams invited to the X Games Aspen 2016 for the opportunity to compete for a gold medal and $15,000. In the group stage of the event, they managed to pull off a big upset, defeating the heavily favored Renegades in four games, but could not replicate their success against Team Allegiance or Team Liquid, resulting in Epsilon being unable to advance out of their group and finishing 5th - 8th. At EMEA Regionals, Epsilon qualified for Halo World Championship 2016, but finished a disappointing top 4, losing to Team Infused in the semifinals. At Worlds, Epsilon were the only non-North American team to make it out of groups, upsetting Cloud9 to make it possible. They lost to eLevate in the quarterfinals, ending their tournament with a top 8 finish. The roster's last hurrah came at Multiplay Insomnia 57, where they took 1st place without dropping a game. On May 1st, Epsilon announced the release of its Halo roster.[2]

Despite stating their intentions to find a team for the Summer 2016 Pro League, Epsilon did not announce its return to Halo until January 31st, 2017, acquiring the Avada Kedavra roster consisting of Daniel "Doodle" Petersen, Kieran "Quad" Rose, Conor "VexZeus" Scally and a returning "Snipedrone" just in time for Halo World Championship 2017 season. Also returning was the coach - "Flamez".[3] Flamez would soon leave to join exceL eSports as a player. Epsilon looked to qualify for Halo World Championship 2017 with a top 2 finish at Gfinity London 2017, but hit a snag with an early 3-0 loss to London Conspiracy. After a 3-2 victory over beGenius ESC guaranteed them a top 6 finish, Epsilon faced Pace Making Pandas (featuring former members BUK 20 and BUK 57) for top 4. Despite Epsilon winning the first two games, the Pandas completed the reverse sweep and sent their former organization home with a top 6 finish.

On February 23rd, 2017, Quad left the team. Shortly afterward, on February 26th, 2017, after lackluster results at Gfinity London 2017 and failing to qualify for the Halo World Championship 2017, Epsilon eSports once again left the Halo 5 scene by completely releasing their remaining roster of VexZeus, Snipedrone, and Doodle.
