The Halo Championship Series (HCS) is the official Halo eSports league, organized by ESL and 343 Industries. It is based in North America.
The HCS operates in a seasonal format, with offline events and Online Cups concluded by a Season Finals LAN event featuring the top 8 teams determined by points gained in the cups and events.
HCS's flagship game is currently Halo 2: Anniversary for the Xbox One, which is only available as part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
Teams are seeded in HCS events by the amount of HCS points they have accrued. HCS points are obtained through tournament placings, with the amount of points up for grabs based on the event tier. At the end of the season, the 8 teams with the most points attend the finals where they have the opportunity to compete for a large cash prize.
Online Pre-Season Cups
- Seed teams by placing prior to the beginning of the season.
- Unique events in which an HCS-related prize is up for grabs, such as a trip to the finals for a European team.
